Pleasantino presents Lord Vishnu statue an artwork of wood marquetry. Made of more than 40 individual solid wooden parts, affixed on multiple layers of wood to give a 3D look. Each small part is carved out of the Padauk wood, Maple Wood and Boxwood and then hand-assembled in a particular order to make a complete figurine.

Vishnu is one of the three main gods in Hinduism and the Absolute Supreme being in the Vaishnava tradition. Vishnu is the preserver god, which means he protects the universe from being destroyed and keeps it going. Vishnu’s wife is Lakshmi, the Hindu goddess of fortune.

It is believed that Lord Vishnu’s power protects the Earth and preserves the life on it. There are various Lord Vishnu avatars (manifestations) that are worshiped by Hindus across different parts of the world. The objects He holds in His four arms Lord Vishnu signify his powers. The lotus signifies spiritual enlightenment, the Sudharshana chakra signifies dharma, the conch shell is a war horn, and the ‘gada’, a weapon that signifies his battle with evil.
